Well I like the form factor better than the Other MPCs. That price to upgrade is still a bit steep as I am already in the ecosystem (silver studio with MPC 2.0) Going standalone is the biggest takeaway for me but the LIVE already does that with a battery. Even hooked up to the software you STILL need AC power to run the thing.
This is definitely a cross-grade product, with a better price tag than the LIVE.
At $499, I would put it on my gear list TODAY!

but you are absolutely right. But this also goes to show this is another market share grab, which, may or may not be a good thing. There is frustration seeing yet another hardware device released when they have not implemented things into the software, firmware and workflow that should have been by now. This makes me question whether they are trying to make bank on what they have established, knowing they can't push the OS much further, OR if they are getting these units out BEFORE a full software revision for OS3.
