New Vintage synths

You guys should read mpc-tutor's turorial on subtractive synthesis on mpc. You'll get some of the phattest sounds out of it you werent aware your mpc could do and because you start off with dry oscillators you have a really clean start to any sound you want to generate. Rather than trying to polish a turd from a preset on an emulation, you could be shaping tones by hand and ending up with things you've never heard before.

You can take all those synths and stick em in the trash, delete the presets and upload 4 basic oscillator shapes and just use keygroups and fx of your own choosing. It's only limited by imagination.

The phat moog bass we all know and love is just a saw with glide (most times), maybe some verb or chorus to thicken it up...

It seems like anytime they do these bundles, they are always not the same quality as when they release a big title plug in on its own.. I wouldn’t jump to conclusions that we will never get real synths again, they did this with the NI releases. They even cheapened out on the second batch because the animation wasn’t there like on the first batch. Iona dropped after the first batch too..
the world is not falling… they couldn’t have modeled three big vintage poly’s, it would have took ten years..
I don’t think they can turn plug ins off either at this point, once you have the license the data lives on your mpc. That can only happen when they are updating the OS, and in your nightmare scenario they wouldn’t have been updating anything..
Some of you guys should maybe get into prepping or something!

That takes a lot more time plus the FX/processing will be in separate plug-ins requiring menu diving or devoting Q links to the rack. Which would suck on a device withoit oled scribble strips.

Kills the vibe for those of us who like MPC for the speed and immediacy.

It doesn't work like that - this header will trigger "License Error" message routine following removal of "offending" file from softwareunlock directory (Invalid license, removing license file) and your Jura will wait for reactivation.

every 3 months.

I have had my mpc off WiFi for more than three months.. the plug ins worked fine.

Fair point. I don't do that. I am paitent I spend hours designing sounds to later write music with. I posted a full album of stuff only using mpc's internal synths and i honestly think its the worst thing i've ever done. Not to say that's how it will go for others.

Hopefully they will allow the same preset facility in keygroups that they have implemented for each pad in drum programs , that will allow the creation of a basic keygroup with an included preset selector . Now that would be useful.

Yup. What's worse is people paying for it which tells Akai to keep doing it. It's **** up for gen2 MPC owners after spending money on a MPCs 4x or whatever more powerful & Akai drops this low effort crap all with same filters & sound engines.

The mentality of "its good enough so who cares" is why companies lose respect for their customers & lower their standards - while raising their prices.
