Support and discussion for all of Akai’s modern standalone MPCs including the MPC X / X SE, MPC Live 1, 2 & 3, MPC One / One+, MPC Key 37/61.

The antelope audio Zen Quadro synergy DOES NOT WORK, errors.

I hope the new apogee symphony studios work.

My guess is that akai doesnt allow changing the recording settings so that they make sure everything works correctly avoiding latency, ect.

I can imagine someone who isn't familiar with these settings would encounter latency on the pads and or when working with analog gear/recorde audio. That is one of the things I like about the MPC hardware, it seems to just work and adjust everything so there aren't any delays when using hardware midi, CV, recorded audio, plugins, PGMS, etc all together. I dont have to adjust latency etc like I have to in ableton. That said I would gladly adjust all these parameters myself if it meant I could use any interface.

Yep, the MPC's will use a USB audio interface if it's class compliant.
So if yours has 16 inputs and 16 outputs you can set your MPC to use them.
This list is for people to identify if their interface works or not.

The happy surprise is that lots of them work really well.

I would say 90% don't work if we look at this thread..

I ended up switching to using a mixer with standard 1/4 cables as even prior to 3.x I dealt with a lot of audio artifacts. Less "guard rails" but I feel like I am getting
more reliable audio quality.

The USB audio interface situation is more of a thing where *if* you already have one it *might* work well enough for your purposes, but there is not widespread support.

Conjecture but considering the modern MPC OS is Linux based, this makes sense. What doesn't is how/why the MPC audio interface pairing was promoted so heavily.

Is there anyone here that has the Fireface UCXII running as an interface, without glitching?
For me it works ok for about 2-10 minutes after the mpc it on and then it starts to intermittently distort for a second (sounds like the sample rate glitches out).

I've read that several members have similar problems, but I want to know if this setup actually works for other people.

Yes i bought used it for 2 days and sent it back. There a post out there with ferrofish audio with dante working and another device but it would cost around $3500 just get 16 channels..

Did you have the same issue with the screechy-clicky sounds (sounding the like bitrate is dropping)?
I'm still hoping I'm overlooking a setting somewhere, but that seems unlikely at this point.

I'm pretty much committed to my UCXII at this point not planning to get another interface (especially not for 3.5K :) )

LOL the Ferrofish is just a converter, you still need the interface to use it, so if the interface isn't working, getting the Pulse wont do anything for you. Its about $1700 or so just for the Pulse with the MADI option installed.
