MPC Live + MPC X: new standalone touchscreen MPCs?

I'm loving the workflow of my mpc500 midi'd to my iPad mini with beatmaker2.

I know its old but here is another picture of the 2014 prototype at the Microsoft keynote:



Don't ask me what the white Ren is doing there.:

Looking at the back of the unit it sure looks 'standalone' to me. The USB port isn't connected at all:



It looks like they where indeed planning for it to be like a pc looking at the internet connection port.
I can't make up how many outputs it has it looks like 8. and 2 pieces of Lr connections but where is the midi?

I bet the in and outputs of the MPCX will be a little bit different but we'll see, just 19 more days to go..!!

did you watch it at all? it was all about embedding windows 10 in devices no matter the size and portability so software could be written for one API and function as intended on any device. The "ren" is probably running on an arm based computer probably.. (tablet/phone guts) and running windows with the pc version of the software. or for all we know it's screen is the tablet.

Yes I did, I found it non informative to what we should expect from this device.. looks like they love to leave loose ends/imagination when it comes to new MPC hardware..

As long as they don't pull the matrixbrute type announcement like Arturia did. Showcased at NAMM 2016, still not ready for shipping by NAMM 2017....

Yeah hopefully they won't do that..... Akai NAMM 2016: 2.0 will be available 2016..... we've got a few hours to go still!

They already did.... what's worse is outside of Dan on Reddit AKAI has been dead silent about 2.0 and everything else.
