Yeah, I imagine bluetooth would cause a pretty annoying latency anyway, but hopefully the scope of its use isn't just adding akai's bluetooth controllers.

Make sure you read the system requirements regarding Bluetooth. The LPD and LPK bluetooth devices do not work with Windows currently. Who knows what other restrictions the standalone will have.

I'd say the latency over Bluetooth would be a problem.

Hope they add the 'audition loops/samples in sync to project bpm' option mentioned ASAP.

Yeah that would be dope. I get a taste of that with Omnishpere 2 when dealing with the arps. Its the greatest thing.

Looks ok to me, I think the X's grid looks better but its just a grid.

Can someone please explain to me why is it so important to you that the MPC X is standalone? For the MPC Live I get it and it's great, but the X will be always sitting in the studio, what's the problem if it's connected to a computer?

Not everyone uses a computer or wants to be connected to a computer all the time.

Unsurprisingly, there is a wide variety of gear to get music making done with and just as many ways to make music

Everyone will have their own reason. Mine is going to sit inside of the studio 95% of the time and the other 5% is when I'm laying in bed or in the living room watching the kids.

I've got a MPC Touch and I can already imagine how the Live will be unplugged. With the touch I miss having the 16 Q-link knobs, I don't like shifting the Q-link bank. And I also miss the transport buttons << >>. I don't like the fact that the master volume knob is at the back of the unit. All these this and more are reason enough for me to skip the 'Live and go straight for the 'X'. It will cost me (I know) but what can I say:

I want stand alone because of the sequencer is on point, it's not that on point when working on a computer. I have to slide notes on the grid in the right place. Even if I highlight and hit quantize not all the notes go to the right place on the grid. I don't get that problem with the MPC. It hits where I hit the pads and goes directly on the grid where I want it and I don't have to fix the notes. That's faster working also with out taking time to fix notes. I hit sounds simultaneously not one at a time so I am fixing a lot when I shouldn't have to. That's Me.

this doesn't make sense man. You believe standalone will have a different sequencer? You think that when unplugged your gonna get a better accuracy rate?
Im trying to stretchy head around what your saying. and no matter the angle. all i get is a kinked neck..
