Maybe 2.0 just got released in Japan but we just dont know it due to their internet censorship protocols

Same here. Fireworks and all ain't got sh*t on refreshing the Akai site obsessively while it's still 2016 TBH.

They already did.... what's worse is outside of Dan on Reddit AKAI has been dead silent about 2.0 and everything else.

I don't get why he said anything there in the first place TBH.

The question is: Why did they attend to the 2016 Namm at all?? Because in reality they didn't have anything exciting to bring to the table.

At first everybody was excited for months (including myself) but to tell you the truth I'm not that excited anymore..their silence has killed the hype..

Now I just want the MPCX and if 2.0 comes with it well its just a win..

Now it's the time for them to ride the MPC X + Live hype train before it also dies out and people are stepping away..

I'm counting down these coming 19 days till NAMM..

I have a friend who works for a big retailer, and he always receives info on this and that, and even though he's not allowed to say a lot, he said he got the impression that Akai were supposed to show the standalone at NAMM 2016 but they ran out of time. NAMM puts a lot of pressure on companies, and you don't want to be there with an empty booth, so I guess that's why they wanted to display 2.0 at least to have something on display.

Really hoping they got the goodies ready at NAMM 2017. If not....

He's not the only one.. there are a few others on the forum as well. Just click their name and look at their last five or six posts. Only negative stuff comes up..

jpeg seems to have cooled down for now.. (And it wouldn't surprise me if there were some Akai employees on these boards trying to defend their brand)

I dont care if anyone bad mouths Akai long as the critique is rational; lotta the dudes ranting on here is pure emotion an unrealistic argument; like the dude who was complaining about the MPC Touch price drop but every company drops the price after a year so it was a silly point to make.

but far at namm 2016 the suggestion is that akai fully intended to release 2.0 in 2016 but due to the hybrid mode standalone issues they pushed it back.

Why do you take it so personally? Do you work for them? Id rather be on the side of someone being rationally mad than a punk company who dont care enough about their customers to at least update the sito.

See what you said there is an example of you sounding like you have a personal attachment to Akai. That aside if thats the case, then why cant they at least release a single statement? Do you think thats rational? What other company has behaved with such callousness as them in music or otherwise? I'm honestly asking. I think if they were a public traded company theyd be jailed by the fcc for misleading shareholders, potential shareholders & customers. Simply enough, if they were a public corp. they would not behave this way as theyd be forced to provide quarterly updates & disclosures to shareholders.

nothing is personal I have no allegiance to akai; I previously used maschine for about 5 years; I have also used a korg esx for many years and before that I used an sp505 for a number of years.

If roland come with acb and its good I may switch over; I just dont like silly/nonsensical points going unchallanged.

I basically just did already. I've not bought anything from Akai for a couple of years since I got my studio. I'm not gonna wait another year for 2.0 unless Akai take another year to release it! I'll wait to find out if its riddled with bugs or not and then jump on it like a cop on a doughnut if its safe.
