Frustrating that Akai would go to Gearslutz to answer questions one-to-one and not here, i.e. the 'mpc' forums, bit of support back wouldn't go amiss.

I know, from what he told me, they get so busy they forget to chime in. I gave him the link to this thread too.

Akai get just as much grief on gearslutz - as far as I can see they get grief everywhere - facebook, reddit, their own forums etc. There's always a couple of people here who will give them grief, but hundreds of hardcore Akai/MPC customers who would appreciate someone from the development team popping in and having a chat and sharing a bit of news on forthcoming features etc.

Legato/glide for monophonic keygroup programs, with adjustable glide time
Step automation/parameter locking of midi CCs
Seamlessly sample from looper directly into clips in clip mode

Saw this too late, just sent Akai this list separately

Solo button on touch hardware for audio tracks should stay soloed when switching to different audio tracks.

Audio input monitor should have ability to stay on while listen to external instruments during midi soloing.

More colors on touch, live, MPC X display screen. For example monitor button would turn Yellow while on. Would make it a breeze to actually tell if turnt on or off

Am I the only one who doesn't know how to track out audio tracks to stems?

My personal experience with Akai & inMusic Brand in general is that they don't seem to appreciate critical user feedback. They prefer customers willing to shell out large sums of money for their products without questioning if the products actually work as advertised. Even when inMusic knows a product has issues or missing features- they will deflect & deny. :Sigh: :?

I still have hope though! I definitely want the MPC Live & X to be a successful! It would be cool to incorporate live beats/remixes at my gigs.

midilifestyle wrote:Some of the features that people suggest above have already been addressed by Akai and will likely never be implemented in this version of the MPC hard/software, such as VSTs/synths in standalone or ability to access the Live as a disk when plugged in to the computer (the product page FAQ states this is not possible, so I'm guessing there's a reason and they're sticking to it). Other features like streaming samples from disk will probably not get implemented because they involve too radical of a change to the basic architecture of the program/hardware design from an engineering perspective.

I hope that is NOT the case but my gut tells me your probably right! I'm definitely interested to see what features are included in the next firmware/OS update. Who knows...Maybe Akai will surprise us all.

1. It would be nice to see some type of undo/ redo prompt to pop up on the hardware screen when pressed to indicate that the function has been executed.

2. I'd also like to see some of the text size increased/ bolder throughout the hardware software screen interface!

Also I'd like to see the midi note-off messages bug fixed! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCIgoNnqCcI

I'm reading a big list of feature requests. I have to think back to listening to MV8000/8800 stories of when it was first launched. They ended up with a complete rewrite to the sequencer and a whole bunch of updates on the 8000 before they finalized the last 1.01 version on the 8800. It was a mess when it first came out according to the early adopters. Hopefully Akai follows through on updating until this thing is just what people want.

Its all about patience on first launch. I'm going to be watching and waiting to see how Akai handles it. They should know from past complaints how not to handle it.

At least most are getting right into beat creation and its not completely alien in function.

True enough it were mostly jokes around here.. And the guy on reddit sounded bloody serious. But if I recall this guy was also a member of this forum. (Hope he's enjoying the Beta  )

Yes that was on Reddit.
The way I see it is if there was a forum somewhere 100% dedicated to my products (I can dream...), I'd probably be there more than I was here, hanging around with all my fanatical customers, getting feedback and ideas, instantly responding to bug reports and support questions.

I get it that Akai are busy, but aren't we all? I just don't understand why Akai don't make the time to have an official presence here.

Dunno if you've noticed, but with 2.0, if you double tap on bar count, you can access locate screen and hop back and forth by bars and add markers.

Yeah, I've noticed it but for me it doesn't work well if I want for example to nudge a note with the big knob encoder and quickly rewind to listen, nudge again, rewind, listen, nudge... until I find the perfect spot for the note.

Maybe Akai (inMusic Brand) arrogantly assumes that members here will buy their new products no matter what. Akai (inMusic Brand) would rather focus on selling to a new customer demographic. :Sigh:

It actually makes perfect business sense unless there is a backlash to this approach by longtime, 'fanatical' customers. If THAT happens then Akai will quickly do a 360 turn around to keep their loyal customers happy.
