Yo there is nothing slow about the Mpc live I agree that load up is crazy fast. As far as reason 10 I'm enjoying it, the new instruments they added are dope especially the Humana that's one of my favorites. Love it for mixing beats also. as far as this vs argument goes the 2000 cant even compare to the 4000 or the 5000 let alone the live. Like I stated earlier it's no contest. The live is so much more advanced. Comparing these two Mpcs is just silly. It's like comparing a ax to a chainsaw. Both tools can cut it's just that the later is more efficient at cutting but depending on your needs the ax could serve you just fine. I just feel like this comparison should have never been made in the first place. Stupid!

Danoc wrote:Hold up homie you got Reason 10? Yo l do too. I use the Live midi up to R10 a go nuts! Dam we on that same boat. R10 is just sick. I can bring sounds from the Klang put them the pads and go! That is the most deadliest combo imo out righ now.

How about the the live in standalone mode with automation? It kills the wack automation attempt on the 2000XL period!

The QLink knobs functions are sicker than the 2000XL can ever be. I got a whole list of what the Live can do.

I couldn't believe how dude try and say the CPU on the live is slow. Gtfoh with that. CrazyEddie let'em know how fast the Live load up sounds.

Crazyeddie wrote:Word the fact that it's battery powered makes it my favorite hands down. No power adapter is dope. And I also love the fact that with the live looper I'm Not even using midi that often. The live looper has also made tracking out my Mpc 3000 and some of my older gear a breeze. From There I'm saving to memory stick and then mixing in reason 10. **** is crazy dope!

Yes sir! To blow out the 2000XL goes up to 32mb, the Live is 2gigs ram and whatever is left over from the system is still way more than 32mb. Can't believe homie said its slow yet they say l give bad info. Smh.

Tracking out will add cable clutter then you have to get an interface, and that's going into your computer :Sigh: :WTF: :vomit: l couldnt track into Protools without it clipping the end of my sound of a 4 or 8 bar loop. To prevent that l had to record the whole 3 to 4 minute song. Hated that. There had to be a better way. I got rid of PT then the 2000XL , got Reasons and it would export stems l was home.

Now the Live export stems, explode tracks, and bonce just like Reason. I would never buy a used 2000XL which is not under warranty over the Live. I track my drum stems from the live drag and drop them into Reason 10 and mix them on the SSL 9000k in Reason and lm done. Im ITB and that's where lm staying. I don't have latecy problems everything is tight and l work faster. And l don't have a bunch of gear around me. Granted those that love that type of setup, l don't like for myself all that and don't need it to make great music.

IMO the OP should get the Live.

If l put a song in song mode on the 2000XL l would have to track out a 4 minute song in real time. Don't have 20 tracks, and you can only track out 8 and stereo outs giving you 10 tracks only. That's crazy in 2o17.

I don't think anyone on here is foul enough to talk shit about people's health. I hope you are ok.

And you make a good point about just getting on and making music.

I guess just in between doing things people like to talk about things

Yo I agree with everything you stated in that last post. Unless money is an issue pass on the 2000. And even then I would still pass on the 2000 and that’s just my opinion. The 2000 is just not in the league of an mpc live. The op would do better rocking a 1000 with jj os or a 2500, he’ll even a MV 8000 or 8800, There’s just better ways to spend 300-500 then on a mpc 2000. Unless it’s free I would say pass.

Yea sorry for the negative and personal ot rant. Somethings just don’t sit right with me on these forums. It shouldn’t be hard to compare the two, I get it’s the internet and people attack others for no reason or communication errors. Such a waste of time with all this stuff in my opinion. Heck, one could argue me even saying anything is a waste of time.

Honestly, a lot of these forums seem to just be an extension of the marketing department. Here people are just ready argue so quickly and Passionately.

Can we compare the two machines just on features alone?

I mean DLPeace’s BeatThang machine can do everything the Live can do, right? Is the BeatThang a better machine than the Live since it had mostly all of the Live’s features years ago?

Crazyeddie wrote:Yo there is nothing slow about the Mpc live I agree that load up is crazy fast.

I said that I suspected a slow CPU, because I’ve read about timing problems and hicups.. I suspect the CPU is too lightweight to run the OS and realtime effects and such.. I don’t have a Live or mpc2000xl myself, I use an oldschool MPC500 and s950 to make boombap beats..

From what I read and see in videos on the web a lot of people are have problems with the new MPC’s, quality control seems bad..
So, when I have to choose between proven technology or the new machines where users are beta testers I would choose the MPC2000xl. Also, because I produce hiphop beats.. I don’t need gb’s of ram memory.. I don’t need soundpacks, I don’t need audio clips. Ik hook up my MPC to a laptop running Ableton Live and use that as a VST host.

There is no ‘better’ machine. Of course the Live has more features, but that doesn’t make it ‘better’. A sp1200 has really basic features, so a Live should be better right? Well, I bet every Live user want to trade their Live for that sp1200 when they are offered to swap units :-)
By Crazyeddie Sun Nov 12, 2017 5:59 pm
Why do the people who criticize the live always look to the few who are dissatisfied with the product to make there points instead of focusing on the overwhelming majority who love this new machine. The machine is built very well in my opinion.
By Crazyeddie Sun Nov 12, 2017 6:13 pm
As some one who has owned and used the sp 1200 and currently still uses a mpc 3000 I would honestly say that yes the live is better then both those maschines. I’m my opinion. It’s getting harder for me to justify holding on to some of my older hardware. The 3000 thousand feel like a sampling dinosaur compared to even my 5000. And as far as the cpu I have had almost no issues. No lag no slow load up nothing. The only external gear im using the live to sequence has been my deep mind synth and so far so good. Not to mention it has live link and Bluetooth keyboard support.

Well thats good to hear... Like I said I've never used a MPC Live.. But it's because of users complaining and posting videos about bugs that I get the impression that the Live has problems..

Maybe you guys should make more videos to show us and let us hear what a great machine it is

If you're talking about the Live vs 2000XL yes we can compare that's at the OP's request.
In comparison the Live slams the 2000XL period!
That's why l told dude put up a list and will put up a list for the Live to compare. I can literately write a book on what the live can do.

On the subject of Beat Thang vs The Live , as you asked if the Beat Thang have the same functions before The Live is it better than the Live? Bad anology, first off we're not talking about the Beat Thang and 2 if the Beat Thang has the same functions as the Live how can it be better? They are equal. Do everything? Means the same. That just means the Beat Thang came out before the Live. That's all.

Is the Beat Thang standalone or it can go controller and standalone? Does the Beat Thang have a battery to be portable without a power cord?

I don't know what the Beat Thang have in it and never will. This the first time l heard of it since it came out.

Yeah Beat Thang has all that. It’s own software, a lithium battery, you can export stems...actually DLPeace suggested all those enhancements for the MPC touch and now we have the MPC Live which has a lot of the Beat Thang features that DLPeace suggested.

I only mentioned Beat Thang because everybody on this forum(including me) was laughing at it, and now you all are raving about the Live for having those exact Beat Thang features.

Hell nah Slowwflow lol l wouldn't trade my Live for no SP1200 lol that is madness.

See l agree with you on the other stuff you said. If you don't need the new technology then use what you got. I respect that.

Not everyone's Live was messed up especially mines. Its been solid from day one. It had one lil glitch which is gone since my last two updates.
