Man I swear I'm not posting anymore shit in this so called "Mpc live X and Force hacking modding custom" page on facebook.

This morning I've posted about this release for MPC One users and at first it was approved by a mod and now it's taken down.

Well f*ck it.. This release is best hack ever released for the new MPC models.. And if they don't want this than their page is just *HOAX* with fake defs showing of what they've got but don't release stuff to the public.

There I've said it..

For those that have a Novation Lauchpad MK3 like me, you can use my config file to get the full Matrix experience.

All you have to do is replace the midi.cfg file on your usb stick wich you've renamed to force with my file, reboot and you're good to go.

Just hit Setup + Mutation to get into that mode.

Facebook is for boobs. The lowest common denominators use facebook. Second of all what kinda backward idiot would publicly tie their "hacking" persona to their facebook profile? That's gotta be the stupidest idea ever lol. No offense to those guys but lol... its not very wise.

If you do good work and treat people well you'll go further in life than if you taunt people with a carrot on a stick. People are willing to help those who help them.

Theres more of them than there is of us sadly..

I've been messing with the Full Force a lot today on my Live Mk1. Pretty cool. Without a launchpad, it's really a bit confusing, but that's what I expected. I don't think it's possible to turn on the metronome without the launchpad, since that's SHIFT+Track5 assign. Very cool to see how easily it could be integrated. Thanks Ultros for all the groundwork.

Yeah that definitely needs the matrix pad. i use an apc mini. it works pretty good on there. the sliders are shit though because i had to convert absolute cc to relative cc.. i just dont use them (they're linked to the qlinks)

You don't have to have a launchpad, it works with the the regular mpc matrix. its just truer to the force feel if you use a matrix pad. A matrix pad is about $100 the force is $1600 cad. Why? for fun? wet your beak in the force universe.

If i gave you MPC 2.10.1 on your force would you turn your nose up at it? like would that be a ridiculous concept to consider having mpc software as an option? I think not... It's another tool in the drawer for mpc users to exploit for making music.

I've got an MPC X and I got the Launchpad and quite often I find my self not even using the Lauchpad because the X has enough buttons to cover for it.

In my case I have had the MPC for a while, and I had the force but hated how massive and cumbersome the unit was. It didn't fit anywhere on my desk. The MPC fits perfectly above my 88key controller. I also like both MPC and Force workflows really.

@Ultros
Another issue or bug, depending on your perspective is that when the MPC Live is using battery power, it just reboots itself endlessly. I was excited at the prospect of a mobile Force. Is this to be expected since the Force has no battery?

Couple shortcuts for anyone else trying this on the MK1
Shift+Play Start+Pad13 = Metronome On/Off
Shift+Play Start+Pad10 = Fixed record clip length On/Off

I just hit record on me messing around with it. You can tell I'm somewhat lost still, but its running solidly so far without much issue. Please do not share or repost that video.

@ultros I just wanted to hop on and say that this is amazing work. I have both an MPC Live and a Force, and wish that Akai would bring Force features to the MPC lineup (or just put a battery into Force).

Keep up the great work! Are you publishing how you're hacking the devices anywhere for others to follow suit? I've seen some stuff on getting into the machines via SSH but wasn't sure if anybody was documenting all their findings from the reverse engineering discovery.

hi, I just want to share my experience:
I own a brand new Mpc One and tried to do the Hakai upgrade procedure so I downloaded all the neede files, unzip the OS one and put it on a usb stick named FORCE in capital letters.
Then I've plug the stick in the Mpc Usb port and did the firmware upgrade.
The Mpc rebooted but it all ends in a black blank screen.
I've tried using different usb pen drives (one bought brand new), I've also tried to download the files from Mac and from PC, but no matter what, nothing changed.
I had to reinstall the original firmware via USB connection between the MPc and the PC, booting the mpc while pressing 3 buttons (full level, pad bank c and browse).
Fun fact is that after I've reinstalled the original OS a couple of messages from HAKAI appeared on screen, but of course nothing changed and the MPC booted normally and no traces of the FORCE whatsoever.

A friend of mine tried with his MPC LIVE MK! and he also failed to achieve the transition to FORCE, but instead of going into a black blank screen, his mpc just rebooted with the original software.

I will attach some pictures of what happened to my unit, and want to thanks mr Jay Ray-One for his kindness in trying to help me from remote with installation.
Thanks to all the people involved with this project, I hope you keep working on it as it would be great to be able to succed having both the FORCE and the MPC in the same hardware:
I will stay in touch hoping for the best :)

Thanks to you all folks, cheers and merry Xmas.Image

I didnt know that would happen tbh, i hadnt thought of it. I own an mpc one. I dont have a battery or any way to test that functionality. Shame it does that sorry to hear that.

Also thanks misterfibble. I'm glad you dig it. merry christmas. ;)
