thanks but tbh honest the in store guys seem to be pretty clueless (remember the mpc eclipse debacle); sounds like he is simply stating the obvious cos he knows NAMM is coming.

I doubt he has any more info than the general person on this forum

Remember when they released the touch, it's slogan was THE RETURN OF THE KING.

In my opinion when you are talking about a king it means that the KING RULES OVER ALL. They might not have said it but when your talking 'KING' it means your talking about a flagship. Well it does a great job but it doesn't rule in my studio. I want to use 'side chaining' and 'Izotope stutter' now I need a daw to fix that for me. and these coming soon sections, come on man how soon?

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Akai (I bet I'll be one of the first to buy the MPCX) but it's not normal for a company to treat their loyal customer/fans with silence.. In fact this the first time I experienced such behavior.

the talk of the touch being obsolete is all in ur imagination; as the touch will run the same way as the live just without standalone; seems like ur just upset that u no longer have the latest model of mpc, but if it still works for you that should not be an issue.

If u want the latest just sell and get a live when it drops.

You keep talking about return of the king; but that shows u read to much into marketing rhetoric; u should seek to remain objective this will stop u from being suckered into buying in at the wrong time.

as mentioned most manufacturers drop they prices after the product has been out for 6 months to a year so this should come as no surprise.

The coming soon pages u should of known this had u done sufficient research prior to purchase; if those coming soon features were vital to ur workflow u should not of mad the purchase until those features were enabled.

Its always best to buy a product for the features it has at the time of purchase rather than what features may be promised in the future.

regarding the silence I agree in this age of social media its not acceptable to be silent; however NI did the same with maschine for two years, so this is not something unique to akai

The irony is that nobody really said much of anything besides the usual dissappointment in being lied to. And I guees if ni(another corp. Who can care less what the market wants) did it it makes it ok for akai to blatantly lie, which it has now been officially confirmed they were lying.
And I see you keep bringing up others getting emotional, how ironic considering so far your the one who rails against people for being frustrated by a company misleading them & not having the decency to admit their mistakes. Your clearly emotionally invested in people criticising akai, even if their wrong whats the big deal that their doing what any consumer would do when in this situation.
When someone buys something it gives them the right to their opinion, thats what review sites etc are for. & As for people being misled when buying touch you couldnt be wronger, when things come out oftentimes like w touch theres no good reviews etc of any kind the videos barely ever explain to people the negatives,& if you cant see that they intentionally misled customers & you keep saying"thats your fault" you couldn't be anymore emotionally invested,as ive seen you comment hundreds of time in a self righteous manner. But anyway hopefully they let us know once commercials are done. I honestly believe if they get their sh together they can be no.1 but they need to seriously try winning their customers back. The continued silence doesnt help anyone.
I will add that the price drop isn't unexpected or wrong, what is wrong is that they knew they promised 2.0 this year& before even notifying us of a delay they just dropped the price, that is some bs.

thanks but tbh honest the in store guys seem to be pretty clueless (remember the mpc eclipse debacle); sounds like he is simply stating the obvious cos he knows NAMM is coming.

No I believe him, this info comes from someone within the company. Before this he said he had no idea, now he knows for sure that they finally finished it, & that for sure their going to release it by namm, hes a friend of mine whos never been wrong about anything like this. He said they were waiting due to bugs to finish fixing the registration site. But that now their just waiting to announce depending on the higher ups,if itll be at namm or before.
Now thats literally all the info i have, and as for the eclispse thing that turned out true,as it ended up being mpc live or x.

With the Eclipse he is referring to the fact that a Guitar Centre(I think) employee googled 'new mpc', or something like that, when someone from here asked if they knew anything. He found a result for something completely unrelated and that is how that rumour for the name started.

We knew that a new device was coming when Dan said he can't talk about anything new coming at the moment but that the touch was not the flagship at NAMM last year.

So store employee makes assumption based on Google search -> gets posted on here -> Lots of websites start talking about the new MPC Eclipse like it is a confirmed device.

If your buddy got the info from an Akai rep its a different story however. I've worked in retail and generally the staff on the floor are the last to know about those things due to confidentiality. Like others have said, NAMM is in 2 weeks so it's probably accurate even if it is a guess.

Unless Pete didn't post it on purpose, he usually flies to Rhode Island and post it on his twitter. This usually happens when they finished the hardware and or software. He still haven't posted any travel plans to the US.

This happened for the 1.8, the 1.9, and Touch release. Maybe he changed it up for 2.0. I don't believe it's finished though, he would have said something cryptic. At least those thieves didn't steal any thing from the Akai robbery attempt last week.

we knew from last year when thaknock leaked the first info on the touch; that there were two other products; he went on to say that the akai rep actually called it MPC legacy.

we also knew that one of them would be the flagship device; because it was known to most that touch was never intended to be the new flagship.

so the guy in the store who googled and found mpc eclipse is completely clueless and should not be credited with releasing an credible new information surrounding these new products, imo
