The praise for the MPC One seems strange to me. Its the low cost and its peeps coming from synths and DAWS.

One MIDI in and one MIDI out.
One stereo pair out.
You have got to be kidding.

I agree, but I don't think they're coming from synths... DAWs -- FL and probably Ableton (since everyone uses it nowadays), but it's probably folks that watch youtube "influencers", and I doubt they've even seen MIDI cables before...

I just didn't know there were that many of em here. I do wish the X and Key 61 had their own subforum tbh = Like how the 1K, 2500 and 500 all have their own subforums...

I forgot where I read it, but someone was saying that they prefer the One over an X, and that was just an absolutely hilarious read. Dude must really love that shift key

Not trying to offend anyone -- just basing this on quite a few people i've met that fit the above...

10 in 8 out and all the adat you wanna snort. Image

For what a user pays for an mpc-x i have got an mpc one, the umc 1820, a microkorg, a microfreak, a 303 clone, a set of monitors... what does the mpc x user gain for the same money spent? i mean in terms of audio development. whether you use an mpc x or mpc one doesnt really matter.. dudes are gonna produce the same quality shit on either one... may as well go for the one that costs less and snap up some other good studio purchases so you dont put all your eggs in one basket and end up making mpc music rather than studio music.

Yeah, I guess that's what makes us different... I already had all of my gear from a long ass time ago, so buying the X was just me updating from a 2KXL. My other gear: synths, interfaces, MIDI Controllers, monitors -- I had that shit from waaaay back when, so I wasn't buying everything for the first time, as you just mentioned. That's what I'm saying -- I feel like X users are different in that respect (I could be an outlier tho).

But I agree, people will use whatever they can afford and however serious they are about music, and that's all that matters in the end.

So... to bring this topic back on target -- any more leaks or news on the XL?

They should really make a compact X (modern 2500) with a battery. All metal chassis.

- 7" touch screen (tilting)
- Full size pads in the center
- 4 q links on left

And bring back "mode" and pressing a pad, or I guess now it could be shift + a pad for step edit, grid edit etc.
Less clutter of buttons imo, more muscle memory.

Whether on a live or X, i feel i'm always visually searching for the buttons before pressing.

I got a live 2 thought it was great till I got Bought a really beat up X that I used for a week before returning.

The X was a different level I like to finger drum and watch TNG reruns for hours. My wrists and my Neck never felt better than when I was using the x.

If I sit the live 2 flat on desk my neck gets sore... If I put it on my tilting Stand for my neck... my wrists get sore.

The X just seemed ergonomically near perfect... and the dem 16 Q's were great.

I got $2500 burning a hole in my pocket but I got analysis paralysis on this XL shit. X's going for Near or below $900 on the reg. These days.

Consumerism got me caught up!

This is how I felt after borrowing a friends Live 1 for a week.
I ran right out and got an X immediately.

lot of people dont use a bunch of external equipment; especially witht he inbuilt synths; also many use bounce to wave stems so multiples outputs and multiple midi i/o is not required for a lot of users, also alot of instruments do midi over usb, so again no need for the extra midi I/O

Did that info come from the same place that made you so sure MPC OS 3.0 was going to be shown at NAMM? Cause its about as legit as that..

You been keeping up on Season 3 of Picard? I hate watched S1 and S2, but S3 is just on a whole different level (read: it's awesome).

Oh yeah.
But for some reason I passed out during the last 5min of last weeks episode from acute fan service syndrome.

It was cheesy, emotionally manipulative, and I Loved it.

The star wars nerds got their back MF 8 years ago.

We had to wait almost 30 year to get our baby back. :worthy:

nope not the same source; also bare in mind that everyone got it wrong regarding AKai and NAMM product announcements.

but u should be aware that there is something called midi over USB; so that should logically imply why less midi ports are needed; also u should be aware of the bounce to wav feature hence the reason less outputs are needed, its common sense for smaller consumer devices to not have those extra connections, those who need more would obviously go for the X.

its not rocket science.
