i dont think its v3 cos the advert for the mpc xl still referenced the v2 software

Given how much love AKAI gave to the MPX series, I'd hate that idea. It's a terrible sampler and the bugs were never fixed.

But I guess, InMusic demands a constant influx of new products to try to reach the widest audience.

I'm just glad I bought my MPC One for less than $600 new, because the MKII isn't going to cost less than $800 and that "MPC Live mini" will probably be around $500 like the SP404, while being a cut down version of MPC OS.

But let's give AKAI once again the benefit of the doubt.

Not just that, global MIDI assignations just like on MPC Software without a hack, macros, automations on return, submix and master tracks, ...

I'd definitely buy a Force in a smaller format though.

6. Generally I would just like to see the overall build quality be much better. I appreciate that the current range is made in Taiwan rather than China, as Taiwan has more of a Japan quality as opposed to the "general" lesser quality from China. I've seen too many reports of broken USB sockets and control buttons that you just feel that things are a little flimsy and not going to last that long. And if they must "paint" text onto the transport buttons I wish they would use better quality paint seen so many X's with worn away play/record text.

7. Another idea would be to angle the OLED displays above the Q-Links so they are more readable without leaning over them.

8. And, saving the best for last.....HDMI output, HDMI output, HDMI output, HDMI output. I don't really understand people's comments saying "just use a computer" whenever someone asks about HDMI. The whole point is we want to use standalone but would like a large display to see what's going on. This would be even more useful if we get the arranger in the future, that would be so much easier to use with a nice large display, as well as lokking cool as ****.

With Akai posting their 35th anniversary of the MPC online, it's looking more likely that something will happen before the years out!!

Man you guys just be wanting everything. Who in the hell hot swaps an SSD? And maybe the reason why we haven't seen a groovebox or sampler with an external video out is because it's not that great of an idea?

I can tell some of you never developed, designed, or engineered a product in your life. Each choice or decision comes with a cost or tradeoff. Also, ya'll want all of these features and whatnot but are the first to complain when it comes in at a high price tag. Manufacturing is expensive, each new physical change requires retooling or at worst a whole new manufacturing process which both start at 100s of thousands of dollars minimum.

That looks like a pretty nice idea to me.

That is the new one mk2. Look at where they knob is.. nowhere on the xl is like that.

I know they've existed, keyword is existed. Great idea to you and a few others, but ultimately not enough to have had it become a reoccurring feature. Your wants and what overall customer data yields are vastly different.

That photo seems to be of a Live 2 retro... perhaps a Live 2 Retro XL??

But based on that logo placement screen and button location it could only be a L2 Retro from current Akai products.

Or it could be something totally new... But I doubt it.

To me.... The MPC One..IS... The MPC Mini

Next Thing You Know..."Mini" Owners will be purchasing External Batteries and Hard Drives for it, Cryin that there's not enough Q-Links, The Screen is too Small, Not Enough Sounds in it....All for $399

There are way more Force features I could've added besides DS, but if u know u know. I was just taking soft jab at 1 of many missing features that meant a lot to me. But the features that I'm surprised more MPC heads don't asks for on the new MPC's is the crossfader.
