ummmmm sound like homie made a wrong judgment and came back to say he was wrong, what are you talking about? :Sigh: :WTF: That's all and it is profound what he said.

See you talk about they're just emulations, and dam good ones too, see if you have the Live or X you would know how it sounds. The Live and the X sound really good, and I agree it doesn't sound like the legacy machines, does that mean a person shouldn't get one? That SP1200 Ring is dope in the Live and X, use it and you shall see! Grit and Grime in it.

That's just opinion and preference :Sigh: to me but if it's "profound" to you OK...

Dope video. Out of the box the live and x obviously don’t sound like that. However, all that other gear he had there could be eliminated with just a live thrown in there. The vintage emulations like you say are emulations, they are cool but I don’t think there is a huge difference. The sp ring is the most noticeable but all them are no replacement for the original machines.

By itself it’s a dope box, a modern mpc. Period. Factor in being able to track out rack samplers, and anything else with outputs and export the stems has to be factored in. I’m always checking out new gear or differnt setups, but the mpc live and an asr-10 is the core. The live is a dope box on its own, between the pioneer sp 16, digitakt and live, the live beats both of them in my book for functionality. When used in tandem with other gear, it really starts with to blow the competition away. Each of those other devices are amazing don’t get me wrong but they are just way differnt machines for people with way differnt needs.

If op was considering between the two, why not save up a few more weeks and cop an xl or an older akai rack mount as well. I know space limitations, people’s budgets and all that but the modern features of the live or x can take older gear to a new level. Once multitimbral support comes to the live, I couldn’t see a better machine to complement a mpc 60 or 3000. You can even transfer files back and forth with a mpc 4000 over usb.

The MPC Touch does have a nice sound to it. Way better than The Ren.

Yeah it does, I was shocked when I heard it over at another producers house. He doesn't wanna get rid of it, but he complains about Akai LOL smh. I told him just stick to that machine that's it.

But the converters in the LIve and X are really nice. My thing is they all sound great, pick your tool and do music!

Yes sir, when I use the Live with Reason, it takes it to a whole different level, I get a different feel when using it. Makes me feel like I got partly hardware going on there some how. That feel!

:fku: Lol gotta quote my typo...

Dude I never got into software really at all., but I’m sure it is like having a crazy amount of hardware. I think it’s great that software or hardware your straight with the live or x.

Lmao hahaaaha lol  My bad yo. Yo you got me rolling over here. You must be on you phone. I misspell like a mug on my phone but lm getting better.

I remember when l was hardware and said l aint doing no software and now lm in the box and don't wanna come out ctfu lol

But this Live is fugging tight with Reason. Ima see if l can get it to ride with Studio One 3 cause that's another kick arse DAW.

My 2000XL was not friendly with Protools. It made me angry. Especially doing 4 or 8 bar loops. I didn't wanna track out a 3 minute track. Freakin ridiculous.

have to agree that tracking out on the 2kXL is a ball ache....

most of my stuff stays on zip disks / CF or just roughly recorded as a single track for reference......

You have problem with sync or its just boring tracking out?
The SMPTE sync on 2000xl should be tighter than MTC if you got long tracks. Regarding clicks and pops at end of loop is just the amplitude is not crossing zero, easy fix with changing latency buffer, a tiny fade out, lower recording level etc. If you not using synth VST and only samples from MPC you should always have MPC as the master sync, then you preserve the groove from mpc much better. Am sure you already know all this and for me its all worth the extra work.

Its just in comparison to the new MPC's its time consuming and clunky...

On the new MPC's you can export all tracks at the click of a button.

I still have zip disk with tracks on them. Plus a hard drive that connected by scsi.

Yeah l did all what you said and more. There was a problem with PT. I made the 2000XL masters and slave it didn't solve my problem. Plus if l had 20 or more tracks that was a bit tedious fir me to handle.
