Price rise on MPC Live and X ?

Just checked Gear4music UK and the live is now£969. Someone on facebook also said they had seen a rise in some stores in Europe.

GAK had it at that price a while back, they are currently back at 799. Absolute Music is also 969, but everyone else is currently 799. A 20%+ increase in price would definitely not be welcome.

Also the X up to £1799.

Seems to be just Absolute and Gear4music ATM, perhaps they are randomly fluctuating the price to scare people into pre-ordering. Or they are raising the price so they can offer it at an artificial 'discount' later.

Also could be that demand has exceeded supply.

Yep, every store that I called always said "This must be the hottest item out on the market" and they are right! People want these machines!

Baxshop NL has raised the price with 300 euros. Do you know how much that is..!!!

It's at 2199 euro's right now and when I preordered it was 1799 euros. I got 10% off with a coupon dropping the price to 1619 euros.

It's official…prices went up.
Local retailer just announced prices 1,199 and 2,199 EUR for Live/X.

hm, in switzerland they went down with the price in some stores.

Well I'm **** furious.

I've been told that Akai has been having problems with their distributors.
That's the reason for the hold up.
I've heard this from 2 different sources that can't posibly know each other.

1) Beta tester.
2) retailer.

Don't know if it also has the do with the sudden rise in price.
