STEP SEQUENCER BUG

Using either a midi keyboard or usb keyboard ,there doesn't seem to be a way to input notes into the step sequencer ?
I've looked everywhere ,can anyone else clarify this ? If this is true then for me it's a disaster .
Also ,whilst in step sequencer mode I can't hear what I'm playing ,madness ,can anyone shed some light on this please or is it me being a fool .

Not a bug just X0X style of "step" sequencing, though it would be nice if you could select pad/note from external keys.

Thanks mate ,that's pretty bad considering that a huge % of producers use step sequencing for basslines etc

I find the SS totally redundant, in view of the grid, anyway.

I can relate to that ,but on every sequencer Ive used ,some of my best basslines have been created in step mode played in,
For anything other than drums it's completely redundant and am serious contemplating sending mine back .
