Only able to Automate Internal Effects

I’m on the latest firmware and software.

I can automate the internal effects plugin parameters for example delay time but if (for example) I load an Air Plugin, it will not do it, it just resets itself to zero.

I have read about adjusting the q links and switching ‘absolute’ position on and off but it doesn’t solve the situation.

Anybody else encountered the same problem?
