MPC Live sample recording issue

Why, when recording a sample, does the audio sound distorted ? i level the volume on the MPC live and on the device (iPhone) and the audio will sound lower but still distorted. does anyone have this same issue with the mpc live? please let me know i need this problem solved asap!

Input volume knob is on back of the unit. Its very powerful, I got mine at 10 o'clock and its loud at -3db.

Also could be that you were sold a demo unit or a return. Saw some issues of one cat that did not have content on his Live, he returned it for a new one but now a new cat arises (from the same location as the last guy) and he's complaining about no content. Retailers are shifty like that.

I'm surprised you obtained a Live at this time, they were all sold out and new batches are due in September. Thats why I suspect you have a used unit.

just a week ago there were 3 stores in LA that had FRESH SEALED LIVE's. i made a post about it in case anyone locally was looking to get a new one.

i picked up another one last week and it is indeed brand new and was sealed, so they are our there to be had.

agee tho that for a while GC had some returns in store ( i returned the first one i bought back around may 30th)...

Line in or Phono in?

it was phono. today i am ordering a 1/4 to 3.5 ..and use the Line in. probably refund the MPC and end up getting a band new one .. i have a used/demo unit
