I've had several problems connecting my MPC Live to external gear. I've more or less given up connecting both Midi in and Midi out, due to weird glitches, things hanging etc. I've turned local off etc on my synths etc. So I've tried just sending Midi out from the MPC, but then it still freaks out when recording (triggering MPC pads).

Is there a general problem with the MPCs midi (external) section, or is there some hidden page/features that I haven't found. I've gone through "midi control" and preferences...
Cheers!

The only known bug with midi right now is that pitch bend does not work with most external hardware ,
Sounds like there's a midi loop going on or something with youres .

Same issue, Access VIrus C. Making me crazy...
It is also doing some really weird things:
I can actually change the names of the presets using Pad Perform.
I can also change individual letters on the name of the preset, doing specific action.

Pretty mindbending. :smoker:

The pression of some pads can affect the sound too. I cannot find any midi cc or filter or some special hidden features.

Please help. :worthy:
2.0.3 installed

Might have a buggy one bro. Mine works fine. I know even the pitch bend works but can't remember if it records it in the sequencer. I use a midi keys in and control a bunch of stuff including synths and effects boxes. Contact akai, as they would have a better answer and can also let you know if it should be replaced.

no issues on the X (dont use the LIVE much for my hardware synths) in both midi wheel and CV gate/midi clock. i'm using hardware synths and a SE-02, and all 4 items play with the MPC's midi...

Thanks peeps, opened a thread also there for us!
Are you using the Virus c people?

I've tried to set also the Midi Dump RX/TX differently but same issue. If so, could you please tell me your setup with it.
I've never had an issue like this, I think it is something related with sub bank cc. I think it is an issue with the pad perform way of playing midi.
Playing single notes doesn't affect midi. Need to read a proper Midi implementation chart to fix it.

Must be a bug fixable with an update, not hardware. Hope so! Thanks

I've been having problems with a midi keyboard connected to the midi in on the touch.... you play a few notes and some start staying on, you have to play that note again to turn it off. I ended up plugging the keyboard into the midi in on my m-audio soundcard and selected that as the midi input on the mpc software .... now its working fine, not sure I trust those midi to 3.5mm adapters ....

The MPC Live cant do MIDI dumps/SYSEX info. I've been talking to AKAI about this and they've told me that it is a feature that they may add in the future.

Dissapointing if you plan to use the LIVE with MIDI instruments in a live music enviroment.

Yeah, the Virus line uses a lot of SysEx... I was even having problems with it on my MPC 1k, and had to go into the midi monitoring section to get a sense for what the heck it was doing... because before that I was getting similar odd behavior.
