Does anyone know a more in depth use of the CV programs for the MPC X? The manual only has a short paragraph on them. I was wondering are the CV programs as simple as they appear? It seems like it's set up to only be able to control a basic CV synth (CV out, Gate out, mod wheel, and velocity). Is it possible to maybe have each pad dedicated to a specific CV/Gate out so that you can use it for drums? Example; pad 1 = gate 1, pad 2 = gate 3, pad 3 = gate 3, etc.....so that you could use it to play drums in the same way you would samples, except that each pad would be a different drum module or oscillator? Similar to how the beat step pro is.

It would be great if Akai implemented this and was completely flexible on how you could arrange the CV and gates. I'd like to be able to use all of the gates and CV outs in one program if I liked....

great (aka simple) idea

surely you can assign dum pads to individual outs

so why not to individual cv outs?

i followed the whole discussion closely (regarding cv/gate on the X) and andy mac said there was room for improvement on this subject

so add this to the 'coming soon' features

i have a Roland SE-02 and a DSI Prophet REV2 16 voice. I use the CV to trigger the gate sequencer on the REV2 and i use the CV play the SE-02.

in theory it should be able to trigger anything that recognizes a note on/off (gate on/gate off) 5 volt peak to peak signal. its just like MIDI except that is has more resolution than MIDI...
