Not sure if this is a function of the MPC Live or if it's a glitch in the software?

Everything will be triggering just fine, pad 1 will trigger pad 1 etc... and then, out of nowhere, pad 8, for example, will start to trigger pad 16 and pad 16 only. This just happened just now. Last night pad 2 was triggering pad 10 or something. Might be my imagination, but it always seems to trigger the pad 8 pads above it???

Is this a function? Pretty sure it's not hardware as the pads still function just fine... if I restart the MPC the issue goes away.

So.. confused... I just know that I spent a lot of money on this thi and this "bug" absolutely kills my workflow.

From the manual:
"The Simultaneous Play section lets you set up to four pads that can be triggered by pressing one pad only. This function is useful for triggering a stack of sounds (e.g., layered bass drums). Use each Pad field to select the desired pad."
Also are you running the latest firmware?

Yeah, I should have mentioned that this was turned off. It was the first thing I checked.. I just didn't know if I was missing something here...

I'm rather disheartened currently because I love the MPC otherwise... If this doesn't resolve itself I'm going to have to send this thing back unfortunately.

Figured it out! If you are in whatever menu screen and you click the "16 Level" button on the MPC live and then before closing out the software's "16 Level" menu and just go to a different menu it will keep "16 Level" activated.

It had looked my hitting any other pad was triggering Pad 16 but in reality Pad 16 was just setup to use the "16 Level" feature.

16 Level seems to work across any menu, this is why. Just the way it's designed. Might be cool for Akai to implement an on screen indicator that 16 Level is enabled (button will be lit so i mean I guess this is enough).

Huge sigh of relief..

I must be honest, this MPC Live very much reminds me of the old MPC3000 that I used to have. Very similar feel in the types of grooves that I get. Also, just truly sounds amazing. Great piece of kit.

I agree. The feel of the MPC Live is amazing and what it does is dope.

16 levels indicator stay lit l don't see Akai trying to imporve that.

It can rock all genres of music.

Yes, definitely easy to forget you have 16 levels activated, glad you worked out the problem.

I requested already a couple of times to ban this dude of this forum.
The only thing he is here for is trolling and commenting off topic.

Up until now i didn't see any comment from him which is adding something to the discussion....but still we keep these kind of shit from lurking the forum.

Why doesn't he bother the Roland MV forum iso whining about Akai on this forum.

Yeah, the foe feature will eliminate members you dislike. If banned he'll likely retrieve a new IP and register under "The Unlikeable" jk. So thats why bans are rare here. Bans do happen so don't think everyone gets by, they just not frequent like other forums

I had almost a similar problem with the pads of the MPC500. The problem rooted from the hardware itself. The pads were installed at a slight angle and not properly flat on the sensor sheet. Took it apart, adjusted the pads correctly and problem was solved.

Good luck holmes.
