Basic Questions for MPC X Owners

Guys the MPC X looks like it's ticking all the boxes for me, and I'm about ready to ditch my FW Mixing Desk and Renaissance and replace it w the X. Couple of questions I haven't really heard answered;

1) How is the overall audio quality of the soundcard, as compared to the Ren, or any of the other converters out there (Apollo, Apogee, Focusrite Clarett, etc).

2) How about the preamps? Has anyone tried tracking vocals with a condensor?

3) How about the line ins? I understand you can run four simultaneously, and an extra 2 are available with a toggle switch. Is everything working there and is it low latency?

4) Speaking of latency, how is the standalone response of the pads as compared to a Ren / Maschine and computer set to something like 64 or 128; do you notice a difference?

5) Finally, how is the MIDI in standalone mode? Has anyone had a chance to test the timing with some outboard sound sources or play anything in from a MIDI keyboard?

Thanks, I'd like to get it, but only if it's solid in all these areas.

I have the live and its tight as f***! The X gotta be tighter!

1. It sounds great. You have to remember the Ren is a standalone the X is the flagship and and rock standalone. I wouldn't compare the two.
The audio quality is superb you will live it. Ask other X owners. Apollo etc never had any of those.

2. The X has 48+ phantom powet and it sounds great. My Live don't even phantom power and l used a garbage mic and it was clean. The converters are on point you will be in utter shock.

3. As for the lines in on the X it shpuld work well my Live works well.

4. Latency in standalone? You don't deal with that because you are not cinnected to the computer. Pad sensitivity you can set that up from 1 to 12 or 16. Default is 8 normal and l left it there and its very nice. I love it. You will be ok in that department.

5. With my Live l used my midi keyboard with the Live it is tight. Sound modules l didn't try. If lm good on the live l know the X should be dope also.

Choice us up to you though on buying it.
