Trying to figure out why the memory gets full so quick.

1. Are Mp3 files transformed to Wav when you load them in Mpc Live?

2. Every effect that you add to a program or to a Pad takes up ram right?

3. If I want to use a long sample is it better to put it inside a drum program rather than creating an audio track? I mean, memory-wise.

4. Any tips someone wants to share? :worthy:

Yes, mp3 files are effectively turned into wav files once loaded, so you are not saving any RAM by using them.

'Sample in a DRUM program' vs 'same sample as an audio track' makes no difference, it's all the same audio.

Effects are going to burn up CPU rather than RAM. I assume 'everything' active in the MPC is going to use 'some' RAM, be it the OS, effects, tracks, auditioning, etc. Most of your RAM is already gone thanks to handling the OS itself.

Conserving RAM in the Live/X is no different to the old school techniques used for old hardware samplers, so use mono instead of stereo samples, loop instrument samples, 'discard' unnecessary sample data, use non-destructive features (slices, pad parameters etc), and so on.
