MPC Live battery management

Im curious to see how everyone's Live battery is holding up?

When not in use I unplug it! I keep hearing different things when you keep the AC plugged in all the time. Of course when i use standalone I run the battery but I keep it plugged in when I use it in controller mode. I want this battery to last a long time without working it to death

the battery will die a slow death once its put into use, so expect it to last you 2.5 years at which time you will start to notice the run time get shorter.

this is due to the physics of the battery chemistry and nothing you can do about it.

whatever makes you feel better on how you plug it up, don't, etc is what matters. its technically a laptop so you should treat it the same way....

Thanks for the info! Makes alot of sense. Good thing we can replace em when its about that time. Might just grab a spare to have handy

It doesn’t matter if you have It plugged to the power all the time if you watch carefully at the back there’s a light and when Live’s fully charged it’s turning off...In other words battery is protected but sure it’ll wear off with years

I had the Live at 100% before the lights went out due to Hurricane Maria. I did not used it for the first 3 weeks of horror. After that, I powered up and was still at 100%.

Sampling and mangling doesn't use up much battery from what I see, but once you start adding filters and effects, running MIDI, etc. The battery gets low at a faster rate.

Battery still in good shape. I only had the live for like 7 months. I use it mostly plugged. But it last way more than my lappy.
