Mpc live USB b port

Hey
I am curious if the USB b port on the live is only to use as controller mode, or can I use it to send/ receive midi from a laptop. I would be looking to sequence the reason rack from the live.

Peace John, it does it but you have to put the Live in controller mode. But your live will be stuck on looking for the computer and the send and receive is all over the place. You wouldn't want to work like that.

But... If you open the Live MPC 64 as a vst then its not stuck looking fir the computer. But your main concern is with Reason.

l have Reason 10 and l don't use the USB way. I use the midi out/in on the MPC Live going USB into my computer and that works.
