Hello All, I been real lazy for about a month , because I caught some malware on my windows 7 gaming/music making pc. So with a clean os install, I have to load all my music creation software and vsts. Which take at least a day to do with native instruments software alone. I have another pc running windows 8.1, that is dedicated to use with MPC2.0, maschine and ableton. But, since I love gaming, I get fed up with switching pc just to do music. So I have both pc setup to make music with maschine and ableton without the mpc 2.0 software on windows 7.
Pushing myself to get off my ass and make some music. I notice I have so many old laptop hard drives laying in a drawer collecting dust and a few ssd. I decided to format a 500 gig hard drive and load it up with over 200 gigs of samples. I also loaded the mpc4000 and mpc5000 backup data files, I saved before selling those machines on ebay some years ago onto the 500 gig hard drive. Then I installed the hard drive into my mpc x.
I started loading some of the project data from the mpc5000 into the mpc x, in standalone mode and was surprise they loaded almost perfect without any problems or hicups. I was taken down memory lane and I thought I never hear those tracks again after selling the mpc5000 many years back. I had my mpcx since august and this was the first time I used it in standalone mode. I must admit I enjoyed myself listening to those old tracks I created and started thinking on how much fun I had with making beats on the mpc 2, 4 and 5k. Of course the sky is the limit with using the mpcx or maschine in controller mode. But, loading my mpc5000 project in the mpcx took me back to my roots and showing me how far I have come. Now it's time to get everything back up running and continue my musical journey.
