How to map VST plugins to midi keyboard

Hi ,

Must admit I havnt spent much time investigating this yet but thought I’d quickly ask to see if someone can save me some time.

I’ve got a few vst plugins which I’ve successfully loaded into my project and can play via the pads on the mpc x however they do not play when pressing the keys on the midi keyboard. I’m guessing there’s probably a Simple solution to this, any pointers?

If you’re using the MPC as a controller, I think you have to go to File > Preferences > MIDI and select your MIDI keyboard from the list of MIDI devices. Once you do that, you should be able to play the notes on the pads and the keys.

If you’re using the MPC X in standalone, you should have the MIDI cables connected to the MPC X and the MIDI keyboard. Shoot, I’m still trying to find out how to use more than one VST plugin in a project. LOL.

In terms of vst instruments in controller mode goto edit-preferences-plugins-then rescan to pick up your vst instruments or point it to vst folders.

Midi-I’ve tried Setting midi to mpc midi 1 or midi public but it still hasn’t mapped the vst instrument across the keyboard. I’ll look further into this tomorrow as Ram out of time tonight pottering around with other bits in studio. Thanks bro
