Hello, I just bought my MpcX and got a real hard time finding how you can step sequence external gear. I got a TR8 on midi A channel 10, I can hear the TR8 when I'm in Pad Preform mode and I can draw the notes in the grid but it seems not to work when I want to make the sequence in the step sequencer ... It drives me mad! Help me please...

This might be because the step sequencer plays other notes then the pad performance. Check the pad performance setting and see which notes it plays. The Tr8 note numbers are 35 and up, meaning a kick sounds when playing a note 35 (= B2). Then check the step sequencer. It does not show not numbers (which i think it should) but you can see which pad it plays on the top left. By default this will be A01. Now if you haven't pitched anything, this should correspond to note number 1. You can change which pad it plays on the bottom right (pad sel, or pad -/+). Please notice you can also change pad banks to select higher notes. Hope this helps

PS here are the TR-8 note numbers: https://static.roland.com/assets/media/ ... _e02_W.pdf
And you can translate to key numbers here if needed:
