Problems with midi sync Mpc Live with Electribe 2

I tried to use an electribe 2 sampler to trigger and sequence mpc live keyprograms and it works fine, I can play the es2 as a keyboard, record some phrases and also the gate arp all in sync.
Only one big problem I cannot understand. Every time I switch record on es2 to catch a small sequence of notes and loop them, I have a continuous note on 1 5 9 13 step.
I guess its a metronome going on but it stays all the time the sequencer of es2 goes even in play mode.
Metronome is switched off on es2 and also in mpc I switched it off In both rec and play mode from the main menu.
Es2 goes midi out to mpc midi in and sync goes midi out from mpc to es2 midi in.
Mpc is set to transmit and es2 is set to receive midi clock from mpc.
So everything should be fine.

You mean the es2 sequencer or the mpc one?
Es2 sequencer is running and also records the notes I play, the mpc is playing a project.

There are no notes recorded or played on those steps, even in mpc and es2 sequencer. They don't highlight in es2 and in mpc there's nothing on those steps.
They just don't exist but they still goes on all the time.
Very annoying.

I'm just guessing from 101 recording classes. I don't do midi but from my understanding, one device is master and one is slave right. So maybe its confusing both machines by having all the MIDI ports plugged in Ins and Outs simultaneously. Or am I just old school and technology advanced to allow this?

The mpc midi out is just the midi clock.
The midi in is the midi data coming from es2 played as a keyboard and sequencer.
But yes, I agree, it might be some confusion caused by this two way midi connection.
But how can I solve it? I need the es2 to play in sync with mpc because I like to play phrases and use the sequencer as a sort of looper and also I use gate arp a lot which needs to be synched.
So is there another solution?
