Akai did good at NAMM2018 with the Live/X

Im pleased and relived that Akai did not turn up at NAMM2018 with protype MK2 models of MPC-Live/X
I was sort of expecting they would but there you go ---very surprised and pleased they are concentrating on improving the existing models with updates.

I actually agree. What more can they do to show they are working on things, besides showing some progress. They seemed to address some of things people have been vocal about on gs. Hopefully by the time 2.1 is released they can add a few more things in. Funny, elektron released a synth with a bunch of new products still needing updates, others forgotten like the analog heat I own, and everyone sings thier praises. Akai tries to show its progress, and it’s not enough. If akai released a mk 2 or anew synth I’m pretty sure Andy Mack would’ve had a hit out on his life or something. It’s actually funny on the sidelines. Akai is trying in my opinion, not sure what my expectations are of updates and that, but I get by fine with mine even with no further updates....

That new elektron box actually looks pretty cool after looking at it some, but that company didn’t leave a good impression with how it’s handling the digitakt. Not trying to hate on them too much, just find the situation ironic.

Unfortunately Akai's delivery of the message sucked. It took St Joe, another Namm visitor (i can't remember his name) and Masada to show exactly what was in it. I can't wait for the update.

they should just have Masada and few others who are users and part of the “mpc” community do this stuff. Andy Mack is corny and not sure why he is the face of their weak azz marketing efforts. Prolly his idea to “leak” the fcc photos, get some legends up there, akai has a rich history to draw from, Not sure why they don’t more.
