Ipad as sound module Bluetooth and Link

Whats going on?
How do I use BM3 with plugins with the Live via Link and Bluetooth?
I want to connect the iPad midi thru Bluetooth and a keyboard thru USB of the live and play the instruments.
Is it possible to set this up?

Don't think you can connect an ipad via bluetooth. If you want to use the iPad as a sound module you'll need to connect the MIDI OUT port of the MPC Live into your iPad via a 5 pin MIDI cable and a suitable adapter (the Live doesn't currently send MIDI out of the USB port).

The Korg plugkey is a good solution. Or you can use the Apple thunderport to USB 3.0 adapter and hook it all up via a supported USB audio/MIDI interface. A lot of interfaces now specifically state that they support iPads, I use a Roland Rubix 24.

There are many generative MIDI sequencers for the iPad, and I'd like to record the MIDI into the Force, using Bluetooth MIDI, not physical MIDI cables.

But when attempting to pair the Force to the iPad, the iPad asks for a code and the Force says it couldn't connect. Any ideas?

default bluetooth code is often 0000 I'd give that a try.

If you have a Mac you can send midi and audio to the mpc but this would be while in controller mode and you would have to have your iOS device plugged in to your computer or one of the usb ports on the back of the mpc. Then use IDAM and it works like a charm. Easier then midi cables and audio interfaces but you have to have a mac be in controller mode and have one cable:the iOS usb charging cable plugged in

I've got dreams of using korg gadget as a wireless midi sound module.

The problem is that when the iPad asks for the code, the text input box disappears after only a second, and the Force immediately says it couldn't connect. That's when trying to pair within AUM or Audiobus 3.

But when pairing the Force to the iPad under iPadOS Settings > Bluetooth, it connects, no code is required, though that doesn't automatically make it work with AUM or Audiobus 3. Those apps need another pairing for some reason.

Hopefully MIDI over USB comes to the Force like it is soon with MPC 2.8. I'd get a Roland UM-ONE MK2 but they're out of stock everywhere.

Wow, very cool. So with v2.8, Bluetooth MIDI Out was implemented? So BT MIDI from the MPC can trigger apps on the iPad now?

How about the other way? Say, Fugue Machine in AUM, BT turned on - can Fugue Machine trigger programs/synths on the MPC now?

Can confirm... Fugue Machine can send midi to the MPC over BT

Is that with Fugue Machine running standalone, or hosted as an AUv3 in AUM/apeMatrix/Audiobus 3?

I was definitely able to do it stand alone a while back... I forget if I tried with Audiobus 3... though it does have pretty robust routing options, so I imagine that's still fine.

There is some latency though, I didn't find it bad for just recording off loops or auto sampling, but I'm not sure I'd go for this kind of setup if you're looking to play a set or anything.
