external midi control no midi feedback over usb

Hi i have an akai midimix connected via usb to the mpc live, while it works for most functions there is no midi feedback to light the buttons (mute rec solo bank) to let you know a track is muted etc, is there any work arounds or is ableton the only thing that works for this, you would think akai would support its own products to some extent

There are no work arounds for the lights. Maybe an mk2 version down the road.
