It would have been great if Akai added all the synthesis options these synth plugins have to the keygroup programs. Aside from Electric which I really like, these synths do nothing for me.

I disagree, I find the 3 synths all good for different reasons.
I also prefer Electric but Tubesynth is worth especially if you take time with Lfo and envelopes, you can get very good results.
Sine bass on the Bass synth is very nice also.
I don't believe it is possible to implement synth features on keygroup, they are different architectures and different programs.
I think in the future they will implement more standalone plugins, that should be the right direction.

I love the synths--very useful.

I have created some earth shattering bass with Bassline.

I no longer need Kontact instruments or Omnishpere/Trillian for my subs.

just tried them out today, were better than i was thinking. if they added the syntn features to the keygroups that would make this machine insane. they need to partner with dave smith and make a standalone filter unit based off the one on the prophet x. I can dream they would also partner with eventide like moog and put it all into one dedicated effecs box.

I agree the bass is dope but l wouldn't stop usin Omnisphere bass. Omnisphere 2.5 is the dopest synth in this planet!

Kontact l never messed with.

Well I think that partnership with Air is more then enough.
Check the synths and effects they make for Protools.
Mini grand also is the best plugin piano I tried so far.
I can see a bright future if Akai and Air keep on working together.
I really would like Air makes a Mpc effects improve.

I'm hoping Air/Akai bring the rest of the Air line up to the MPC. My only issue with this partnership is that Air doesn't do more acoustic/electric instruments. I believe they have piano, electric piano, organ & drums. No brass, winds, strings, etc.

100% possible.

May I ask why you bought a sampler if that’s what you are looking for?

Yes but as a piano player using pro tools in my past life, I remember that Mini Grand and Velvet were the only plugins I could use when I couldn't use a real piano or a Rhodes.
And only now I realize they are both made by Air musictech.
So I am really happy to see them in my Akai Pro Mpc Live.

What do you mean?
I didn't talk about what I am looking for so what are you after?
And by the way, Live is not just a sampler.
It is also a drum machine, a sequencer, a synth and a multifx.

I misread.

I’m taking my frustration about what I think is missing out here. My apologies.

I understand your frustration.
But keep calm and just learn how to use your Mpc.
At the beginning is a hell but then, as you understand its workflow, is a great device.

Thanks for the advice but this isn’t my first mpc. I am very familiar with most MPCs and all Akai samplers in general. Workflow is great. The synths are not to me. I’d much prefer to use my own samples as the sound source instead of polishing those oscillators up with effects and a “hype” module.
