Hey! Anyone have any experience with controlling MPC Live with a Keith McMillen Softstep?
I have just picked up a first generation Softstep, real good price - I took a chance that since the Softstep is class compliant, and since the Live will work with class compliant Midi USB controllers, that it would work... Well, I'm pleased to confirm that it will indeed control the transport (Start and Stop, so far not Play Start - haven't messed around with rewind or any other MMC's just yet), also, it sends Midi notes, and it can trigger mutes (though I haven't quite figured it out all the way yet - using Midi Learn I can assign a foot pad to a pad and mute it, though when I select another pad and Midi learn, the first is gone... I'll keep playing around...)
That's all I've got so far. I'm excited to get it to control filter's etc. I'm real new to Midi mapping, haha
Anyhoo - I'm wondering if anyone else has a Softstep they use with their Live, any tips, etc? There is precious little info on Youtube or Google... If I can get it to mute pads and programs, play some midi notes, start and stop a sequence, then I'm happy. But I'm certain it can do a whole lot more. Yeah!
