As I've been going through the Live Bible, I just realized we can't save samples to a directory of our choice? Since when? I could've swore this was possible with the Oder MPC's via floppy or Zip disks? Don't mind me if I sound clueless.. Tequila is my mistress tonight. Wanted to just listen to some records and sample.

i think the only way is by saving them into programs. that is a total oversight...

Select the sample in the Edit Sample menu or assign to pad. In Main screen hit the the pencil tool to edit/ copy / save the program. The menu will then show you the option ‘save current sample’ and allows you to save the sample wherever you wish.

My man! I could’ve sworn I seen that in the Live Bible. Frustrated I couldn’t figure it out! Thanks!

MPC-Tutor wrote:It's a bit flakey that option, not tested it in 2.3 yet, but sometimes it just doesn't work as expected. Also (naturally, I guess) gets confused with multi-layer pads.

Damn. That’s weak. I’ll give it a go tonight.

they need to add a function for this in the sample screen... you can't have a sampling session as easily when you gotta **** around to get the job done.

+1

When going through a stack of records I still prefer my 2500 before dumping everything into the Live for this reason.

I barely sample outside of creating multi-sampled instruments. But the 1st time I went through a stack of records (read 5-7), I was held up by this missing "feature". PITA! But I'm not pulling out my Z4.

One of my earliest Ren memories…I had just got the unit and thought it's dope as heck.
Was sampling a lot of vinyl in one session – and then the **** crashed (which it did a LOT back then).
I was like no effing way, where are my samples? And they were nowhere…not in some temp cache folder or something.
Wasn't dope, I tell ya.

I might not be understanding the procedure, but why not just sample a bunch of sounds, assign them sequentially into a drum programme and then save that? You'd get all the individual sample files in a folder.
