About how many MPC lives do you think there are in existence/have been purchased ??? :?

Don’t know hoe many but I would say enough to pay the engineers, CEO’s, CFO’s, Product managers’ Reps and enough to fund the Force..

Maybe 500, 1000, 2500, no, 3000 have been sold?
Or would it be closer to 4000 or 5000?

My guess would've between 60 and 2000. I do hope to Live to see X amount of MPC's made/sold.

At one point it was thought only 3500 were made but it was a myth.

Enough to keep the Mpc growing.
I think Akai got the right time when people started to be bored with computers and competition is weak.
Have you seen what Elektron made for the Namm? A ridiculous device which is not even half of Mpc.
This idea of dedicated devices which replaces computers is the future.
We will see many other of these and many brands will follow, so Akai will be one or two years ahead

Been digging all their products (used to own the OT, still got Machinedrum and A4) but that doesn't click with me.
But it's easy to understand that it's an entry-level device…comparable to MPC 500 or something.

But their Overbridge is a good look…has to be said.

Yes but this new one is really useless.
8 tracks and 128mb for samples.

until youve used an elektron sampler those specs or limitations dont really matter the sequencer in elektron gear is next level akai should implement p-arameter locks and some of the other things it can do, it just sounds limited on paper once you use it different story, havent tried the new one but digitakt is a dope sampler and does alot of things the mpc cant get close to, they are differnt machines totally and work very well together and i wouldnt want the mpc to do all those things as would get unweildy but a few of the sequencer functions would make the mpc much more fun to write on.
