Brand new MPC user here. Just picked up an MPC Live yesterday, which is my first foray into the MPC ecosystem. However, I have used Maschine since the Mk I and have been producing music with various DAWs for almost a decade. I really wanted to get away from being tethered to a PC to create music and the Live seemed like a well developed and fully grown solution for my current production needs. I only had a chance to play with it very briefly yesterday and I can tell it’s gonna take a lot of research and practice to start making some progress, but I’m absolutely looking forward to the challenge. The issue I’ve run into right off the bat seems very strange to me. Basically when I open the Browser and search through for sounds and samples, I can audition them in which case they sound perfectly normal (and of really high quality) however, once I load the sound, be it and instrument or a sample and try to play a pad it just plays back this weird distorted sound that almost sounds like there’s a HP filter and a bit crusher just destroying the sample. It also appears to be loading the sound/sample onto every pad?? As soon as I go into Pad Mode and it assigns a note value to each pad, the pads play back fine just as the samples sounded during the browser audition. Haven’t done any updates to firmware yet, hopefully get that done when I get off work and see if that resolved the issue, but if anyone else has any experience with a similar problem or any ideas as to what might be happening I would really appreciate it!
