MPC software + MPC Live + transfer to PC

Am I missing something really simple? To hook the Live up to a Windows PC via USB do I really have to install a $200 piece of software?

Product is registered and I'm signed in. I got 2.4 installed no problem but I have some old kits from my 1000 backed up on the PC. Is the software not even worth it and I should just use a thumb drive? Which I'd be fine with.

You need to install the driver for the live. You get the software if you have the live registered to your akai pro account.

If you have done that, run the software installer but you do not have to install the software . Click the Live icon and follow the prompts to install the driver only.

If You're just using the Computer to help transfer files, Windows should recognize Either a SD Card, Thumb Drive, Or HDD/SSD, as a Drive, if have them installed in your MPC. You shouldn't need to Install the MPC Software for that purpose.

i use it in software mode to live stream 32 tracks to my daw over usb, i cant really use the software from the pc screen cuz its a mess but gives you a few extra options

fantastic, it's not recognizing mine because I don't have an SD card yet. It doesn't recognize the drive that comes with it, I goess. I'll get one today.

The internal flash drive is not readable by and computers. So cards, user installed ssd, and thumbs are the way to go.


I wish users would not touch the internal flash drive at all, it just leads to trouble.
