MPC Live fw update with Mac OS X 10.5.X/10.6.X

Hey folks,

I've tried unsuccessfully to flash my 2.0.0 firmware on the MPC Live using various Windows 10 machines, various USB-passthrough tricks in various hypervisors, and various versions of the MPC Live driver provided by Akai/inMusic Group support people. My box is basically a paperweight at this point, and support is of no help.

Has anyone here had luck with upgrading firmware to 2.3 or 2.4 or 2.5 with Mac OS X 10.5.X or 10.6.X? I may be able to borrow one of these older Mac machines from an acquaintance, but was hoping not to waste their time in the process if its all for naught.

I didnt had any issues on Mojave but why dont you try the USB update instead - it doesnt rely on using a computer except copying the file to the usb stick ...

You may however need an interim step/firmware - for the later 2.4/2.5 I think you need as least 2.1 so follow the update to 2.2 first and then attempt the newer versions

so head over to https://www.akaipro.com/mpc-live go to the downloads and fetch the 2.2 USB update - try that and then you should be able to upgrade to the latest versions - if the 2.2 doenst work try one of the earlier 2.1, 2.x releases and work you way up I would say ...

if the 2.2 USB updater works you can upgrade by just using the USB updaters

No, USB firmware update method is not possible with my 2.0.0 firmware.

Sadly, lower then or eq. of Mac OS X 10.8.X 10.6.X or 10.5.X,
none of the app's 2.01 2.30 and 2.50 would start up, Ill try that, I've been there.
So you need ie. iMac 10.11.X
