Total rookie question

Hi all.

Brand new to the world of MPC with the purchase of a nearly new Live off Ebay.

All cool - loaded the MPC 2.0 software and updated the machine to 2.5. My issue now is that in no way will the Live communicate with my laptop. Doesn't appear as a drive, prefs in 2.0 don't show it. Assume I need to install the driver, but where is that? I can't see the installer anywhere on my Mac. OK - figured I would go the the Akai site and just download the driver, or worse case reinstall the 2.0 software. BUT I can't see either anywhere!!! Help - this is daft.

Is your MPC in controller mode?
In standalone mode, your computer won't see it.

You have to run the software installer, after the splash screen it ask you which mpc via icons. When select the Live, select install drivers and follow the prompts exactly.


Then do what Fanu says.

Thanks for your responses. Yep - run it in controller, doesn’t make a difference. So where do I find the installer on the akai website?

It’s in your Akai pro account. Since you already installed the mpc software to 2.5, it’s that same installer. Run it again and select live, and then select install driver.
