Read this unfortunate post on Gearslutz regarding Live/X standalone mode:

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/showpos ... ount=17319

Me:

Dan,

Is there any chance we'll see Hype synth in the Live/X standalone in 2.6?

Dan from Akai:

not 2.6, no, but we're working on that.

My guess is that it will be a paid update in 3.0. I can't imagine Akai doing a free 2.7 update next, as it's been a hot minute since the paid 2.0 update came out. I'd love to be wrong, though.

Right, that appeared later in the same Gearslutz thread. That said, I'm willing to wager it will only be free for MPC Live / X / Touch owners, if the 2.0 release is anything to go by:

Don’t forget the mpc touch is dead. Maybe 3.0 for Live/X and whatever new controller they make.

Lol.... It seems like the Current environment is...A lot of People want the MPC to make the Beat for them. Pre-made Clips, Synths with Pre-made sounds, FX with Pre-made Effect patches, etc. BUT....Akai goes to where the Revenue Stream is.

Akai has to Balance spending Money on a Dev team to Restructure the Current Hardware to appease Users who actually make Music Creatively, Versus...Users who want a Box that can make music with the least amount of Effort as possible.

Are the Old Heads gonna Spend More Money, Or is the New Generation gonna spend more Money. That's Akai's Dilemma. Balance! $$$$$$$$$
