Adjust volume per sequence

How can I turn down overall volume on SEQ1 but keep current level on SEQ2 and so on?

Use the track levels in the tracks View. They are midi levels (0-127) and so don't affect program or pad levels but can lower the overall volume of any track you have playing assuming it's a drum program keep group or one of the built-in synths. If it's a midi track it will do the same assuming whatever you have connected response to Velocity with its amplitude.

the master level is kind of the "master" level - so it affects all sounds, all sequences and any audio coming out of the MPC Live. Thus adjusting it on one sequence wouldn't really be a good idea, as it would carry over to any other sequences too.

Best to adjust the track levels as I said above; I think this is the easiest way. You could do automation too - but I think it would be a lot more tricky because there isn't a great automation editor and you'd have to "record" all the automation instead of just setting levels exactly how you want them.

Try using the track levels in the track view. The wheel will turn it down in increments of 10 without shift being pressed.

What I want to is some simple fade in fade out and mute / unmute in the middle of a SEQ so what you suggest will be quite a hassle way to do it

I haven't tried this yet...but how bout putting XY effect on the Master output. And record a Q-Link Volume Fade?

Or I could add a comp, turn up treshold and turn down output vol.... that'll work

I guess a simple 1982 feature like master volume automation was too big of a task for Akai XD

Or you could duplicate your programs and tracks to a new sequence and just change the volume of the duplicated programs of new sequence

I see. I didn't realize that was your intent. I've actually had good luck using LFOs to fade in/out in some cases (where it's a sample(s) I want to fade), taking advantage of the filter and amp adjustments for it - but only when my sequence is 8 bars or less (using the syncd rates). I realize this may also not be ideal. Perhaps you should revisit writing in track level automation
