Saving MIDI Program Settings: Help Required

Dear all, since day one I am using my MPCX (late 2017) I am very unhappy about not being able to save MIDI programs the way internal plugin programs are saving their setting.
- MIDI channel
- MIDI Port
- MSB and LSB Bank setting
- Volume setting and other specific MIDI parameters

I know it causes no sweat to do this manually every time.
- The function of saving MIDI programs are a waste of time, as except of the name nothing (noticeable?) is saved.

Is this no issue for anybody?
Or did I oversee something?
Any workaround in place?

Nick D's answer sounded promising at the time:
Interesting idea! In other words you would be embedding MIDI channel and program change messages right within the program itself. I can definitely see how this would help if you have external hardware that you like to pair with the Live. It's almost like a preset for your external gear right on the MPC!

workaround / workflow enhancement : save a sequence template with your project template with a MIDI track where you program a default MIDI ch and LSB/MSB bank change (etc etc) already recorded, that way you can copy from the template sequence to your work sequence and change accordingly

thanx tiger001 - ...working - though, I have not done so in the past and need to get used to this. I could use a dedicated sequence on my template - I need to try it.
Nevertheless, it is a workaround.

- selecting a preset program would be easier: copy a track, switching MIDI program - bam! - multi-layered, at least step one of a multi-layer.
We can do this with MPCX internal instruments as well, but most dedicated synth' are currently still better than the included
