These things you could do, just find out what op amps they have and where they are on the board. Then find a higher quality replacement. Same thing goes for the capacitor. You just have to trouble shoot it and make sure you're not raising the noise floor.

I would like to hear a sound demo.

I've seen these before for other devices – never one sound demo. Not convincing at all.

For $795? bloody hell mate. that's not cheap...

I don't remember what I paid, but I liked what they did to my Digi 002 Rack back in the day.

I have the Live, but with only samples coming out of it (I go in via my interface), there's no value for me.

Not sure how the specs & sound compare, but I didn't pay that for my Clarett 8pre Thunderbolt. Hopefully this BLA mod out does that.

I use a Neve Master Bus Professor for tracking and compression duties. I am impressed how hard I can hit the Clarett 8pre before the interface clips.

I bought a Burl ADC to hit hard too and that has a lot of headroom. My Apollo x twin solo doesn’t have that headroom and will clip bad.

So for the same price you are better off buying the clarett 8pre for 795. I have spent hours using the clarett 8pre and am impressed at the detail for the money you spend. That’s why it blew away the black face Apollo units of that gen. There was good headroom when hitting the interface with the Neve MBP.

Sure the new Apollo X6 or newer space grey gens have the 24DBu extra headroom but you’re out 2200US.

But if you had 795 to burn get the 8pre. Sample into it and track back into it.

The Clarett treats my tables, synths & Live very nice.
