Grid automation is applying across all sequences

I'm trying to automate an insert effect (dry to wet) of a plugin track but when I use grid automation it's applying to every other sequence. It doesn't appear in the grid automation section on other sequences, so I have to manually go into each sequence and re-do the automation (turning it to off).

Is the MPC 2.6 designed to apply grid automation globally? From the manual, it reads as if grid automation should only apply to the sequence, rather than the track. Is this a bug and does anyone have a work around?
