Charles nailed it above. I wouldn't worry about other equipment just yet. Get yourself a good pair of headphones and an SD card and give yourself a month or two to get familiar with it. You can do ALOT with just the MPC so Id take some time to let it settle in and make some tunes and then see what you might want to expand with. I have a whole room full of gear, but Ive been at it for about 25 years or so, and honestly I could get by nowadays with just the MPC Live if I didn't have any of my other toys to play with.
