Deleting factory content on MPC One

Hi guys,

I read on another thread that people recommend not to delete factory content on their Live as it apparently makes the machine glitchy.

Has anyone tried deleting some or all the factory content on the One?

I don’t usually keep factory content on my samplers to keep things tidy.

And if it def messes up the machine, would a factory reset fix it?

it doesn't make it glitchy. It just deletes away that startup screen where you can open recent projects. If you're not bothered about that; Then go ahead and delete your contact. if you **** up, akai service can help you.

Pretty sure its alot more than just the splash screen, as Akai reps have even said as much on their own forum.

People have screwed their devices up plenty doing this. Akai says DONT delete the internal storage, so don't do it, plain and simple. Otherwise eventually you're going to go crying to them your MPC isn't working right and you're going to have to reflash the factory content back to it.

Go Ahead and Delete it.....in a Month You'll be creating another post saying..."Where Can I Download the Original Content" :lol:

Whats on the Internal Drive is not in the Way at all.

You save all your content on External Drives, USB Sticks, SD Cards etc

Deleting Content will NOT Increase RAM, Storage Space, etc.

It'll just satisfy a Mental Thought that its in the way somehow!

The included samples is taking up space, but unlike deleting bloatware. You'll be better off getting a great SD card or using a USB to save and expand your sample library. If you sale it in the future the factory content is there, but personal content is on your storage device.

p.s. just in case you didn't know the MPC software includes software to build your own expansion sample packs with customized artwork. That way you can fill you expansion screen with your own samples and kits.

Thanks a million for the useful feedback guys. Guess I won’t be touching the factory content EVER.

Come to think of it, the Digitakt also has factory content and so does the OP-1. So I’m already pretty much used to that! It’s just the MPC 1000 that allowed this 100% blank slate.

Also it would take Akai sending you an iso image to reflash your internal drive to fix it. A simple reset won’t do.
