Hey folks... curious if anybody has hit this issue and has a fix. I've tried a few things over the last six months and couldn't get it to work. I've auto sampled plenty... so I feel like I know how to do this for external synths, VSTs, etc...

Here are my steps:

1. Load a key group
2. Set the key group to output to an output 8
3. Send that audio from output 8 through some external FX
4. Route the processed output back into the MPC X, I've got it coming back into input 1
5. Go to sampler mode and set it to input 1
6. Play some sounds, here it processed through the external FX
7. Switch to Autosampler and "Do It"

I've confirmed that it has the right input selected, when it plays the notes I can hear them, but when the Autosampler completes, all of the samples are completely empty. There isn't even any noise in them, normalizing does nothing.

I'm assuming this ought to be able to be replicated by running a cable from the MPC X out directly into an MPC input... which would simplify the process a little.

Just curious if anybody else has hit this issue... I'm just looking to resample some patches into new key groups, but it isn't working the way I'd expect.

Thanks!

Auto sampler works off the midi program you have selected afaik. May not be able to do it like that but double check your settings in the auto sample menu.

The sampler setting will differ some than the auto sample settings, but I’m not 100 percent you can do that as I never have tried. You need to remember that auto sampler works off midi. Do you hear the notes play like it’s going to work but nothing is recorded?

I will try to do the same thing here shortly.

Damn just checked it out. Can’t process keygroups with effects and make a new keygroup. Seems like something they could easily implement with assigning the keygroup a midi track.

It gets all weird when you try to do that too. Like turns of the monitor sample and sets it to resampling. I’d have to think of a work around, nothing’s coming off the top of my head.

I could see this being helpful with sound design through a filter box or preamp.

I really never tried that, sometimes I’ll use a touch of the air effects, into a pedal then into the mixer.

Yeah, I've gotten tons of other things to work... but not this.

I figure I'll just have to record the FX while I'm coming in from outside the box. That's working fine... just this mode seems to want to resample from who knows where... even though the inputs are clearly correct when I start. Probably a bug... but *shrug*...
