Mpc one vs JJOS and 2000xl hardware

Hallo there
I'm really struggling thinking about the mpc one with those pads so small. Could you please give me any advice to realize if it does really worth buying this new little toy?
I come from jjos and I really liked it, I bought a mpc studio after the 2000 and I feel so bad can't even make a beat couse the workflow has nothing comparing to the jjos
so please does the one make me feel to have the old school workflow or it's just another little plastic box?

I'm from a 1000 with JJ os to a live. The small pads on the 1000 have never bothered me. So unless you are edward scissorhands there won't be much of an issue. But if you are really woried, maybe you can test it somewhere? or look at youtube video's to compare somebodies fingers with the pad size.

Regarding the workflow; I can recommend checking up on some youtube video's on how the interface looks and works. And perhaps even .... read the manual?

Personally, i don't care about the ''old school workflow''. I just care about workflow and i find it easy to adapt. That's just me. If you are truly looking for the oldschool workflow, get a 2nd hand mpc 1000 or 2500 with JJ os.

I had such a hard time adapting to the Live coming from JJOS/ MPC2500, that I just sold it. Although there are plenty of users who made that transition very easily without ever looking back. It really depends on your own workflow wether you can aply that to the One. Only way to find out is to try it out I guess.

And btw, +1 on the pads. I also had the 500 and the 1000. The smaller pads never bothered me, nor have I ever heard somebody complaining about the smaller size.

I think if you want to actually play the drums more than one pad at a time of for extended time live sets etc you will find those small pads on 1000, one etc a bit lame, full size pads and fat ones too are important for drum rolls and articulations as need to use more than one finger on them, anyway work flow on new mpcs is same as ever with lots of new junk that mostly gets in the way, if you wanna do complex midi things dont get a current mpc they dont work for it. good for portable tho and pads on the live are dope

For live finger drumming , the small pads, should not effect the drum rolls or articulation. The finger drummer has to perfect their technique and alter it depending on pads they play. There are players who played on much smaller drum pads, with no issue. Like the Alesis HR–16, Linnstrument.

I agree some machines, no matter how capable just to work for us. That's why I could not bound with MASCHINE MK3 software. The controller was fine, but the software even after learning it. I could not gel with it. Akai Pro should offer different pad, based off of hardness and softness and make it easier to change pads.

2. Stiff
3. Standard
4. Soft
5. Softest

That way if someone ask, what pads do you play. We could say I Finger Drummer with 4's and 1's.
