Hi there

So here's what I'm trying to do. I want to send and receive midi data from logic to MPC live to play pads on my custom drum program. My setup is MPC live midi in and out connected to a computer. And audio outputs of MPC to audio interface.

First of all I know this isn't how your suppose to use the MPC live but I do not like using the MPC software or MPC live in controller mode. I want to be able to sequence midi in Logic, playing the MPC pads to draw midi in and then have that midi sent back into the MPC live to play back a drum program which I have made using custom samples, for the audio to go through my audio interface into the daw. same as you would do with hardware synth

Should seem like a simple thing but drum programs in MPC live don't seem to send or receive midi data.

I like that the MPC live is standalone and that you can store, edit, layer your own samples within the MPC Live alone. I don't get why in controller mode you can't use them off the MPC live hardware. I hate to use third party software when I have my DAW already.

Something tells me this isn't possible to do.

The key groups and drum programs dont have MIDI assignments, they're all internal to the MPC. It DOES send MIDI when you play the pads, but the tracks won't output the MIDI because they technically dont have it. I basically use the MPC as the sequencer, and just use Logic/Reaper to sync it and multitrack it when Im done. I usually dont add any DAW stuff until after I already have the basic tracks captured there. The only way to send MIDI out is to use a MIDI track, but obviously thats only going to trigger whatever track Logic is set to and won't do anything for the MPC.
