How to Transfer files between your Computer and MPC One, X, Live while in Standalone.

1. Buy a USB Switch or KVM Switch

2. Plug your USB KEY into the Switch

3. Plug one USB cable A into the computer and USB cable B into MPC X, One, Live

4. Now select input B on switch: Go to browser and the MPC will show the drive.

5. When you want your computer to see the drive. Click browse on the MPC
and eject. (Because the MPC requires you to eject the disk.)

6. Once you click eject on MPC, just click the button on Switch or KVM to input A.

7. Then it will show up on the computer. (Load or Transfer file to USB Key then eject.)
Now select input B on switch: Go to browser and the MPC will show the drive.

8. You can do this in standalone and it takes less time. Then going into controller mode to transfer files.
You won't have to physical take the drive in and out.

TIP:

- Buy a USB switch with 2.0 speed and up, for a fast transfer speed.

- This should work with any MPC with USB A port.

- If the switch supports, 4 usb keys. The MPC will see them all. The down fall is you must eject all of them
before you switch over. So it's best to stick to one.

- External Hard Drives work, SD Cards.

- New Egg have many of them. The link is below, this is not sponsored or affiliated.

Yo CharlesRandolph what's the end piece called on the blue cord that came with the live? Not the USB end that goes into the computer but the end that goes unto the MPC?

That's the USB Type B side.

It's works perfectly, there is no need to remove the usb key or sd card in order to transfer files on the MPC ONE. It will work for MPC X and Live in stand alone which is just another transfer option.

Having to go into controller mode to transfer files is a pain, especially when you want to save and get back to making music. So while it's in controller mode transferring files, the MPC LIVE/X is disabled. Which means the user can't make music, while it's transferring.
